My Personal Site

I kind of hate to admit it as I have enough geeky stuff in the closet as it is, but I do love gaming.  Not just a particular type of game either, pretty much anything!  I enjoy everything from Role Playing, Military Strategy, Board Games, to Mah Jong.  It is kind of embarrassing to  look over the bookcases of games in my basement and to think how long I've been playing some them.  Perhaps more disturbing is that I have games that I suspect I'll never get around to playing for either lack of time or consistent players.  Anyone up for a full campaign of World in Flames or Empires in Arms? Maybe eventually...

My gaming group meets fairly regularly once a week and while over the years there have been many new faces added to the table and some old faces removed from the table, it is pretty much the same group of geeks who have been getting together and escaping reality together since high school.  These similar minded losers are some of my dearest friends in the world.  The games that get played most often are Call of Cthulhu, Battlefleet Gothic, and the 18xx series of train games.  In true geek fashion, since many of the players now have children, wives, and equivalently busy lives, we have even started playing via web cam with remote players for those who can't make it on a given night if the game allows.  So far, we have only been doing that with Role Playing stuff but who knows; maybe I'll write a web app for 18xx.
